On Information Technology and Its Risks and Control

目前大多数组织都意识到信息技术 (IT)给组织带来的风险 ,但他们并没有认识到信息技术也是控制风险的强有力工具。由于信息技术能帮助组织在各个方面获得竞争优势 ,因此信息技术在组织中被大量使用 ,促进了组织的信息化进程 ,使其从“电算化”过渡到“信息化”。在“电算化”阶段 ,由于组织及人们对信息技术不了解 ,给组织带来了各种各样的风险 ;而到了“信息化”阶段 ,当组织及人们熟悉并掌握了信息技术 ,适应了信息技术环境时 ,信息技术就成为组织控制风险的强有力工具。

At present most organization have realized the risks brought about by IT, but they haven't realized IT is a forceful instrument to control the risks. Because it can help to gain competitive advantages in every aspect, IT is used in a large number in organization to promote its information and make it transit from 'computerization' to'information'. In the phase of 'computerization', IT has brought about various risks because people lack a good knowledge of it; but in the phase of 'information', IT has become a forceful instrument to control risks when people have understood and mastered it and are adapted to its environment.
