Objective: To examine psychological changes of patients with cerebrovascular diseases. Methods: 60 patients with cerebrovascular diseases were assessed with SCL-90, SDS,HAMD and SAS,60 healthy adults matched in age and sex were selected as controls. Results: Total scores of patients were significantly higher than those of controls on the four rating scales. The psychological symptoms of the patients with the lesions located in the left cerebral hemisphere were more evident than those in the right cerebral hemisphere, and those in cerebral cortex were more evident than in the sub-cortex; the multiple lesions in the cerebrum rendered more severe neuropsychological symptoms than those simple lesions did, the lesions of big size also rendered more severe psychological symptoms than those of small size,the nature was not closely related to the degrees of psychological changes. Conclusion: The psychological symptoms of cerebrovascular diseases were extremely evident. Those symptoms were not closely related to the location,size,and the degree of cerebrovascular diseases.
