吉田松阴的皇国史观及对外政略 ,给明治政府领导人以深刻影响。山县有朋在担任军界、政界要职的生涯中 ,忠实地继承和实践了吉田的思想 ,他在日本近代天皇制的确立、日本军国主义的形成及日本对外侵略政策的推行过程中起了重要作用。

Yoshida Shoin had had very strong impact on the leadership of the Meiji government through his historical viewpoint of imperial state and foreign policy. Yamagata Aritomo, in his career of holding important military and political positions and as a senior statesman, carried on Yoshida Shoin's thought faithfully and put it into practice to such a degree that he had made great contributions to the establishment of modern Tennoism and militarism in Japan as well as Japanese foreign policy and aggressive wars in his life time.
