魏晋玄学是中国哲学发展史上的一个重要阶段,对其基本理论特质的探讨构成了中国哲学史研究中的重要内容。早在20世纪30—40年代,著名哲学史家汤用彤先生首倡玄学哲学是本体论之论,并将汉代经学向魏晋玄学的发展看作是中国哲学史上从宇宙生成论向宇宙本体论的转变。在他看来,汉学执滞于经验,“本天人感应之义,由物象之盛衰。
In terms of Chinese philosophical studies of the problem between Heaven and Human beings based on the actual life, the meaning of life in Chinese philosophy is always rooted into the spiritual state. Therefore the basic Characteristic of the ontology of Chinese philosophy is that it does not inquire into the objective ' reality ' as done by Western Philosophy, but seek the presentation of the 'being' (moumenon) in the spiritual state. Due to the frequent link between 'being' and the spiritual state in Chinese philosophy, the name of Ideal Metaphysics can be used to define the metaphysics in Chinese philosophy as the metaphors of Spirituals State. In the history of Chinese philosophy, Pataphysics in Wei - Jin Dynasty not only reaches the transformation from cosmology to Ontology, but also makes the 'being' rooted in the spiritual sate. Therefore it was the initial form of Metaphysics of spiritual state.
