Preliminary study on the damage mechanism of ancient paintings

通过对古书画损毁机理加以分析,认为光和热的老化作用、酸性物质的降解作用和霉菌的污染是古书画损毁的主要原因;颜料的老化与变性,明矾在装潢中的使用及人为因素损坏是古书画损毁的重要因素。建议通过控制保存环境,改进修复方法对古书画进行有效保护。

The damage mechanism of the ancient paintings are analysed. The causes of the painting damages are found are aging due to light and heat energy, decomposition reactions of the acid substances and pollution of the molds. Denaturation of the color and using of alum in the mounting are also the important factors causing the damage of ancient paintings. The control of preservation environment and improvement of restoration methods to protect the ancient painting are also recommended in the paper.
