Objective: To explore effects of acupuncture combined with medicine on serum E2. FSH, LH and ER level in peripheral blood lymphocytes. Methods: Female SD rats without pregnancy were divided into Gengnian I group, acupuncture group, group of combined acupuncture and medicine, Gennian Kang control group, model control group and normal control group, and their serum level of E2, FSH and LH contents, and ER contents in peripheral blood lymphocytes were determined. Results: (1) Serum E2 level in castrated rats was lower than, and FSH and LH level were higher than those in the control group. E2 level in all other groups increased, and FSH and LH
level decreased significantly after treatment as compared with those in model control group, with the most obvious action in the group of combined acupuncture and medicine. (2) ER content in castrated rat decreased significantly as compared with control group. After treatment of acupuncture. Gengnian I or acupuncture combined with medicine. ER contents increased significantly as compared with that in model control group, with the most obvious action in the group of combined acupuncture and medicine. Gengnian Kang had no remarkable influence on ER. Conclusion: Acupuncture and Gengnian I can increase serum E2 level, decrease FSH and LH level, and up-regulate ER content in immunocytes with the most obvious action for the combined treatment of acupuncture and medicine.
