Training base is an important place to train the students' professional skills, it is the premise and guarantee of practice teaching in higher vocational colleges, it has an irreplaceable role in cultivating talents. The paper makes a profound analysis of the mode and problems of training base construction in domestic and foreign colleges, discusses the construction guiding ideology, principle, method and path of art and design training base mode combined with the characteristics of art design major in higher vocational colleges. The research shows that innovation is the study clue, choosing the regional leading enterprises to build the base is the core, realizing win-win between society, colleges, enterprises and students is the basis.
