Critical Practice of Negativity:An Analysis of the Contradictory between Cultural Studies and Cultural Criticism

学者经常把"文化批评"和"文化研究"看作是同一个领域的问题,或者干脆把文化批评当成了文化研究的基本方法。格拉斯·凯尔纳认识到了文化研究和批判理论的分歧;而秉承马克思主义的现代社会批判思想,"文化批评"并非旨在对世界的阐释、分析和矫正,而是指向拆解、抽空和阻断。文化批评的否定性体现为这样一种否定性:它不是令人解脱,而是令压迫感更强烈,不是让现实变得美好,而是让现实变得更能呈现其内在的自我否定。

Scholars normally treat 'Cultural Criticism'and 'Cultural Studies'as the issues in the same field,or take cultural criticism as the basic research method of Cultural Studies straightforwardly. Douglas Kellner realize the theoretical difference between Cultural Studies and Critical Theory. He thinks the object of Cultural Studies is not to interpret,analyze or set the world right,following the spirit of modern society critic in Marxism,but to decompose,evacuate and interfere our perception of the world. The negativity of Cultural Criticism embodies a certain kind of negativity: It is not to liberate but give more pressure,not to make the world better but to make the reality a self-negation within.
