New Exploration on the History of Regional Science and Technology: Reviews of Wang Xingguang’s History of Science and Technology in Central China

区域科技史研究是科技史研究的重点领域之一,有着极其重要的学术价值和现实意义。《中原科学技术史》在空间上以中原为其研究范围,时间上起旧石器时代,下至新中国成立前夕,是一部完善的区域性科技通史。本文介绍并评述了《中原科学技术史》一书,认为作者系统完善地总结了中原地区科学技术发展的总体历程,并十分精确地总结出了中原科学技术发展的特点,是一部优秀的区域科技史代表作。

The research of regional history of science and technology is one of the key fields in history of science and technology,which is of extremely important academic value and practical significance.The History of Science and Technology in Central China gives a detailed introduction about regional history of science and technology from the paleolithic age to the eve of the founding of new China,which takes Central China as its research object.This paper introduces and reviews the book of History of Science and Technology in Central China.It is considered that the author,Professor Wang Xingguang,has systematically summed up the overall course of the development of science and technology in Central China,and accurately summarized its characteristics.It is considered to be a masterpiece of regional science and technology history.
