徐树兰集议创办的古越藏书楼是中国近代第一座具有公共图书馆性质的藏书楼,开放式藏书楼的创办除受当时维新思想的影响外,还受藏书开放思想的影响。藏书致用开放思想是中华藏书文化的宝贵财富,应继承并发扬光大。

Guyue Library sponsored by XU Shu_lan is the first public library in modern times of China.The establishment of this open library owes debt to the influence of the open_minded thought in books collection besides that of the idea of Constilutional Reform and Modernization at that time.The open_minded idea that collected books should be available to people is the precious treasure in Chinese library culture and should be inherited and carried on.
