The Propagation of Greek Sciences in the Middle Ages and Its Relationship with Religions

本文力图在西方学者的研究基础上 ,对希腊科学在中世纪漫长岁月中的传播历程及其与宗教的关系 ,勾画出一个基本的历史轮廓。为了叙述的完整性 ,笔者在文章的首尾两部分对希腊科学的衰微和复兴的背景作了简要说明。

Based on the studies of modern western scholars, this article attempts to draw out an outline for the propagation of Greek sciences in the middle ages, including the historical background of Greek science falling into a servant of theology, the efforts of Byzantine and Islam scholars to save Greek science, the influence of the translation movement in the late medieval Latin world, and the impact of the conflict between science and religion upon medieval science. For the sake of descriptive integrality, the author also added an epilogue to give some account for the rise of Greek science and in the Renaissance.
