Hamlet is a tragic figure created by William Shakespeare,he is also well-known as a'melancholic prince'. But he wasn't born to be a melancholic man. Although the play has a concise story,it is filled with many uncertainties relating to different issues behind the plot. The essay is devoted to the discussion of Hamlet's insanity,and also tries to provide comments on Hamlet's characteristics of madness and the humanism of that age reflected on Hamlet.
