孟浩然是唐代第一位大量从事近体诗创作的诗人。孟浩然的五律,不仅数量多,名篇多,并且因具有很高的艺术成就与审美价值,而获得了"盛唐最上乘"的称颂。就风格言,孟浩然的五律既有阳刚之美的佳构,亦有阴柔之美的杰作;以技法论,孟浩然五律各"体"兼备,形式多样,为唐诗百花苑中一朵奇葩。同时,孟浩然的五律还给李白等人以深远影响。

Meng Haoran is the first poet who writes a great amount of rhymes in Tang Dynasty.Not only because of the great quantity but also because of its artistic quality and aesthetic value,Meng Haoran's pentameter is praised as'the best in Tang Dynasty'.In terms of his artistic style,there is much boldness,creativity and eleglance in Meng's pentameter.As for his writing skill,Meng Haoran's pentameter has rich and varied forms.It is considered to be 'an exotic flower' in the poems of Tang Dynasty.At the same time,Li Bai and other poets are under deep influence of his pentemeter.
