Determination of the optimal generating schedule is an important aspect of economical operation of hydropower plants. The purpose is to minimize water consumption used during the operation period. The dynamic network programming (DNP) is used to determine the daily optimal generating schedule of the hydropower plant, and the calculation results are given. The DNP method is also compared with the conventional dynamic programming (DP).
