重庆地处西部大开发的战略位置,又是我国第4个直辖市,其竞技体育的发展起着举足轻重的作用。根据全国各省市竞技体育发展战略趋势和特点,结合重庆现有条件,研究和制定具有重庆特色的竞技体育发展战略,是当前重庆体育事业发展"十五"规划中的重要课题之一。

The development of competitive sports plays a vital role in Chongqing,one of the most important cities in the west and the fourth municipality directly under the central Goverment. A major program for the 'Ten Fiveyear Plan of Chongqing' is to make out developing strategies of the competitive sports in Chongqing with Chongqing characteristics on the basis of tendencies and features of the strategies of competitive sports in other provinces and cities in China.
