On the Translation of English Sentences with Implicit Negation

英语的否定有明暗之分 ,暗含否定缺乏明显的否定标志 ,因而当它通过一些特定的句式来表现时 ,对它的理解与翻译就存在一定的难度。试就常用来实现暗含否定的比较句、反问句、条件句以及强调句等句子的理解和翻译做一探讨。

In English, negation can be realized by sentences with or without negative marks. Those sentences with no negative marks may cause some difficulties in being understood as well as translated. This paper attempts to explore the ways to understand some of the implicitly negative English sentences, such as the comparative sentences, tag questions, conditionals, 'it' sentences and so on, and put forward some techniques for translating them into Chinese as well.
