In Apr., May and Sep. of 2001, some specimens of tardigrades were collected from filamentous green algae in Luoyang City, Henan Province, Jingshan County, Hubei Province and from mosses in Dujiang Yan City, Sichuan Province. On examining these specimens two new species and three new records for China were found. Descriptions of these species are given below.Class Heterotardigrada Marcus,1927 Order Echiniscoidea Marcus,1927 Family Echiniscidae Thulin,1928Echiniscus Schultze, 1840 Echiniscus quadrispinosus Richters, 1902 New record to China (Fig.1)Three specimens were collected from mosses in Dujiang Yan City. Body length 188.8-200.9?μm, width 96.8-100.5?μm. Pattern of rude granules on the dorsal plates; without eyes. Three median plates of dorsum not transversely divided. Lateral margins of every two lateral plates with a pair of short filamentous appendages. Lateral margins of terminal plate with a pair of long filamentous appendages and two sculptures. Lateral angles of 2nd and 3rd median plates with two pairs of short filamentous appendages. Class Eutardigrada Marcus, 1927 Order Apochela Schuster et al., 1980 Family Milnesiidae Ramazzotti, 1962 Milnesium Doyere, 1840 Milnesium dujiangensis sp. nov.(Fig.2) Holotype and one paratype were found in mosses of Dujiang Yan City (30°98′N, 103°56′E). Body length 314.6-363.0?μm, width 169.4-217.8?μm.Cuticle surface smooth, brownish in color; with a pair of distinct eyes. Six large peribuccal papillae and six triangular buccal lamellae present at the anterior end of body. Buccal tube short, wide, rigid, without spiraled thickenings; stylet supports short, thick with stylet sheaths. Sucking pharynx taking the form of long pocket, without apophyses, placoids or septulum. Two double claws of the Ⅰ-Ⅲ pairs of legs furcated on the upper parts of similar size and shape; without lunulae; claw sequence 2, 1, 2,1. One of each double claws furcated the other unfurcated and rude in the Ⅳ pair of legs. With respect of six large peribuccal papillae, buccal tube short, long pocket of sucking pharynx, without placoids, I believe this species belongs to the genus Milnesium Doyere, 1840. So far as I know only one species of this genus has been described Milnesium tardigradum Doyere,1840 and the Dujiang Yan specimens differ from this species in body length, sucking pharynx length and the two double claws of the first to fourth paired legs. Therefore, I consider it to be new to science. Order Parachela Schuster et al., 1980 Family Macrobiotidae Thulin, 1928Macrobiotus Schultze,1834 Macrobiotus harmsworthi coronatus Barros,1942 New record to China(Fig.3) Forty five specimens were found in some mosses of Dujiang Yan City. Body length 266.2-484.0?μm, width 115.0-169.4?μm. Cuticle surface of the body is covered with large round marks, without eyes. Buccal tube short; sucking pharynx contains 6 lines of 18 striped macroplacoids and 4 pointed microplacoids, with 3 apophyses. Two double claws of each leg furcated on the middle parts, lunulae present, claw sequence 2, 1, 1, 2. The upper parts of primary branches of the Ⅳ pair legs with furcated small branches. The eggs have more small processes. In respect of morphological features, these specimens resemble Macrobiotus harmsworthi coronatus Barros, 1942 recorded from the North Island of New Zealand by Horning,D. S.et al. in 1978. Family Hypsibiidae Pilato, 1969Isohypsibius Thulin,1928 Isohypsibius macrodactylus(Maucci, 1978) New record to China(Fig.4)Three specimens were found in some filamentous green algae of the Yi River of Luoyang City in Henan Province. Body length, 242.0-411.4?μm, width 100.0-169.4?μm. Cuticle surface of the body without sculptures and with a pair of eyes. Buccal tube short, without spiraled thickenings and with stylet supports. Sucking pharynx contains 3 lines of 9 or 2 lines of 6 elliptic macroplacoids and 3 pointed microplacoids. Two double claws furcated near bases of each leg of dissimilar size and
