摘要
网络地理信息系统是网络与地理信息系统这两项技术的集成。本文简要地分析了WebGIS的基本特征和产生的重大作用。作为“数字地球”和“数字区域”建设的关键性技术,文中分析了几种实现方法并对其发展做了一些研究。
A revolutionary integration of two powerful technologiesthe web and GISWebGIS. WebGIS was designed to functionally access only the needed portion of this mountain of data and to deliver the information using the simple, standard browser. A GIS operating within an Internet browser, which is perhaps the most common software component of the desktop and handheld computers, allows literally tens of millions of people to access GIS data sources and funcrionality.
