The basic constructions, picture patterns, coding methods and main features of ATSC and DVB digital television systems occupying the leading position in the world are introduced. The characteristics and performance of the two systems are compared in detail.Four kinds of digital television system schemes proposed in China are described and analyzed,especially the more advantageous DMBT system.
