The purport of lube with compatible environment and the biodegradable property of vegetable oil as biodegradable base oil were introduced, the mechanism of gel formation of lubricating oils at low temperature was presented, the rule kinetics in process of gel formation was revealed, the criterion of pumpability of engine oil at low temperature was discussed to improve lube performance.
