The Implementation of Knowledge Management Strategies in Distance Education

摘要 在知识经济时代,“知识就是力量”。本文从知识管理的理念出发,结合江门电大的教育实践,对现代远程教育试行知识管理作初步的探索,获得点滴体会,与同行交流。 The saying 'knowledge is power' has never been more true than in the current knowledge economy. According to contemporary knowledge theory, knowledge can be classified as explicit or implicit. What knowledge managers in radio and television education systems have to do is to transform explicit and implicit knowledge through the processes of ex-ternalization, internalization, integration and socialization and to tap the implicit knowledge inherent within teachers, students or even the organization itself. These processes promote the transmission and interaction of knowledge so as to make information and resource sharing a possibility, with the ultimate goal of accelerating the development of distance education. Based on these ideas and the practices at Jiangmen City Radio and Television University, the author has carried out a preliminary investigation into the issue of knowledge management in distance education. This study reveals that, firstly, the ideas of modernized knowledge management should be strengthened as it is the precondition for the successful implementation of knowledge management. Secondly, the Internet, an important carrier of distance learning and knowledge management information, is one of the crucial elements in distance education knowledge management within the radio and television university system. Thirdly, we cannot neglect the questions of how resource building can be achieved and what is the optimal mix of learning resources, Last, and perhaps most importantly, learning support services should be genuinely student-centered.
