摘要
1944年7月陈立发表《我国科学不发达原因之心理分析》。该文早于李约瑟本人对"李约瑟难题"的最早论述(1944年10月)。竺可桢在1946年发表的《为什么中国古代没有产生自然科学》中引用了陈立文章的结论。许康于2000年年初函询陈立,请教其写作背景。陈立当即复函。2001年5月,陈立又在《我从事心理学研究的回顾》中作了进一步的解释。陈立的复函和相关自述,对研究"李约瑟难题"的发生发展,是极为珍贵的资料。
Chen Li's article 'Psychological Analysis to the Reasons for the Low Level of Science in China '(July,1944) was written earlier than the earliest discussion of the Needham Problem (October, 1944) by Joseph Needham (1900-1995) himself and was first introduced by Zhu Kezhen (1890-1974) in his article 'Why Was There No Natural Science in Ancient China?' At the beginning of 2000, the auther of this paper corresponded with Professor Chen Li about the background of his writing the article. Professor Chen Li's replies regarding the background is given hereunder and noted in this paper for looking into the Needham Problem.
