从修辞学角度研究的“隐喻”和从认知角度研究的“隐喻”是两个既有联系又有区别的概念。根据当今有关隐喻研究的最新理论,隐喻不能单纯作为语言内部的一种修辞手段,而应把它和人类的认知过程相联系。隐喻是一种思维方式。人类以隐喻式思维认知世界。

Metaphor is not the same concept from a perspective of cognitive study as from the perspective of rhetorical study though they are related in some way. The latest view about metaphor claims that metaphor should not be studied simply as a rhetorical device of language but be associated with human' s cognitive process. Metaphor is one of the human cognitive methods. Human beings cognize the world by the way of metaphorical thinking modes.
