On Mencius' Summary of Historical Rise and Fall

孟子对唐尧以来历史盛衰进行总结,从仁义与人心等方面来探讨历史盛衰的原因。其天人观虽存在天命思想因素,但更多的是强调人事。孟子的历史总结不仅反映出其丰富的历史知识,而且体现出其历史变化的观点,在中国史学史上有一定的意义。

Mencius summarized and attempted to find out the cause,from the perspective of humanity and human mind,to the historical rise and fall since Tang Yao.Although his view of 'nature-man integral whole' contained certain fate element,it put more emphasis more the human factor.His historical summary showed not only his rich historical knowledge,but also his view of the historical change.
