摘要
弗莱的大众文化理论涉及到多个层面,包括雅俗文学界限的取缔,民间艺术对统治阶级文化的分权作用。他提出了"创造性艺术"与"交流性艺术"等概念,以推崇精英文化的品质。对广告等制造幻觉的商业文化,弗莱开出的是在教育中增强"想象力"的药方。
This essay makes a critical review of Northrop Frye's theory of popular culture. On the one hand, he validates the boundary-crossing between the high literature and the low one, and the deconcentration of folk arts to political power.On the other hand, he provides two terms, Creative Arts and Communicative Arts, by which he intends to show his respect to elite culture. To the commercial culture, for instance, the advertisement, that produces illusions, his recipe is to enhance imagination in education.
