摘要
英语作为世界语言已变得越来越重要,对于它的研究也已成为语言学领域的一个重要课题。随着中国入世和北京申奥成功,中国人学英语已呈现出前所未有的势头,对于中国英语(ChinaEnglish)这一也许是将来英语中的最大变体的研究也已引起国内外语界的关注。本文就WorldEnglishes和ChinaEnglish相关方面对1261名在校大学生进行了问卷调查。结果显示绝大部分学生对这两个概念知之甚少,这对中国的英语教学,尤其是中国入世后的英语教学有启示意义:让学生广泛接触世界英语;研究中国英语,让中国英语逐步规范并走入课堂。
English, as a lingua franca, has become a more and more important language. Studies of this world language have drawn scholars' attention. After China has joined WTO, English is being more enthusiastically learned. Studies of China English, the future possibly largest variety of English, grow in importance. This present paper, using a questionnaire, makes a research into World Englishes and China English. The answers from the 1261 university students show that the majority of them know very little about World Englishes and China English. This has some practical implications in English teaching and learning after China has joined WTO.
