This paper explains the connotations of humanistic environment in the library and the construion of humanist environment. The humanistic environment has many layers of meaning, including the humanistic pursuit of physical environment, human - centered cons - ciousness in the process of service and the human - centered atmosphere in the work relation - ship. Between humanistic environment and the service to the readers, the former is the ma - terial and spiritual basis of the latter, it regulates the aim of the work in the library; while the service to the readers shows humanistic and social value of the work in the library, it refles the humanistic environment in the library, and it enhances the construion of a good humanistic environment in the library.
