The Reduction of Aristotelian Modal Syllogism

在现代逻辑看来 ,亚里士多德实然三段论都可以化归为第一格AAA式。那么 ,现代逻辑如何看待亚式模态三段论的化归呢 ?亚式模态三段论可以化归为哪些格式呢 ?本文认为 ,从联合演算出发 ,能更精确、更贴近地反映亚式模态三段论的原貌。本文的分析表明 ,亚式模态三段论虽有疏漏 ,但仍然可以化归为基本的格式 ,因而自成系统。

From a contemporary logic point of view, Aristotelian assertorical syllogism can be reduced to first figure of categorical syllogism. Then, how contemporary logic looks upon the reduction of Aristotelian modal syllogism? Which figures and moods could be reduced to by Aristotelian modal syllogism? It is argued that we can give a precise and proper reflection of Aristotelian modal syllogism according to joint calculation. In this discussion I shall show that Aristotelian modal syllogism is unique in its system for its being reduced to basic figures and moods though it is oversights and omissions.
