Among the 24 projects wining State Award for Natural Sciences, 12 are led byCAS scientists, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The firstprize of the State Award for Natural Sciences has finally found its suitable recipient after beingvacant for four years in succession since 1998. A research team headed by Jiang Xikui and Ji Guozhenof the CAS Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, won the prize for its out-standing achievementin two important frontiers of physical organic chemistry: aggregation of organic molecules andradical chemistry.
