摘要
In America, National Council For The Social Studies (NCSS) developed and published Curriculum Standards for Social Studies: Expectations of Excellence in 1994, and most of the states’ department of education published their curriculum standards for Social Studies, too. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Education published History and Social Science Curriculum Framework, In China, the Department of Education formulated and published History～Social Studies Curriculum Standard in 2001. By comparing, we can research the characteristic of Social Studies Standard of China and America. Moreover, by studying the value and the purpose of Social Studies, multicultural in Social Studies, and the relationship of the Social Studies Standard to other standards in the field, we can discover some general ideas.
