A Textual Research on the Chromatographical Techniques of Ling and Ming

明代湖州凌、闵二氏是印刷史上公认的最有名的套版印刷两家。在明末 ,两家刻印了大量套色书籍 ,王重民先生《中国善本书提要》和杜信孚先生《明代版刻综录》这两本书对凌、闵二氏的套版印刷作了较详细的论述。但由于历史久远 ,其套版印刷实物不易得见 ,后来许多关于凌、闵套版印刷的叙述都来自第二手资料 ,因此对它们作些考辨 ,提高其准确性 ,是很有价值的。

The Ling and the Ming of Huzhou were two most famous chromatographical printing shops in the late Ming Dynasty. The two printing shops chromatographed a great number of books at that time. However, many conclusions have been derived from the secondhand sources because the original editions of books are difficult to be found now. So the author finds it of great value to make some textual research on their chromatographical techniques.
