A Brief Discussion on Managing the Department Library in Universities

面临新世纪的挑战 ,高校院系资料室应适时转型 ,由传统型转为现代型 ,由封闭型转为开放型 ,由独立型转为合作型。资料室管理人员也要更新知识 ,提高素质 ,由单一型向复合型人才转变。这样才能顺应社会潮流 ,发挥应有作用。

When faced the challenge of the new century, the department library should change its service function from the traditional type to the modern type, from the closed type to the open type, from the isolated type to the cooperative type. The librarians should also update their knowledge and enhance the service quality. They should move from being able to do one job to being able to do multi-type jobs so that they can meet the needs of the social development and contribute more to the society.
