With the development of information technology, colleges and universities are paying more and more attention to distance education. There are various views about what is the key to distance education. This article expounds and proves that service is the core of distance education by discussing teaching methods, orientation and industrialization characteristics of distance education, and puts forward new views about how to improve the quality of service.
