This paper analyses the status and developing trend of treatment, reuse, management of surplus sludge at home and abroad. Agricultural values of the surplus sludge after non-harm and steady treatment were comprehensively assessed on the bases of analyzing the compositions of surplus sludge from municipal wastewater treatment plant, the risks of utilization, as well as agricultural market.
