技术祛魅与道德祛魅——现代生命技术道德合理性限度反思

Disenchantment of Technology and Disenchantment of Ethics: Limits of Moral Considerations in Modern Life Sciences

本文以对现代生命技术研究与应用的道德反思为切入点 ,以道德在新技术革命中的作用及其合理性限度为论旨 ,追问“道德在何种意义上可以担当技术选择的仲裁”、“技术何以有禁区 ,道德能否为技术划定禁区”及“是技术离开了道德 ,还是道德离开了技术” ,认为当代人类在祛魅技术的同时应当避免附魅道德 ,技术祛魅与道德祛魅是当代人类同时面临的两个重任。

Reflecting upon the ethics of modern life sciences and their applications, and discussing the limits where moral considerations should stop playing a role in technological revolutions, the author raises the following questions: how should moral considerations determine the application of technology? Why must certain areas be forbidden for technology? Should such forbidden areas be defined in ethical terms? Has science drifted away from ethics, or vise versa? As the author points out, given that man has become disenchanted with technology, he should avoid falling under the spell of ethics. Technological and ethical disenchantment pose themselves as two major challenges to humanity.
