中国传统译论中“写”的承与扩

Writing in Translating:A Documentary Study of Traditional Chinese Translation Theory

中国传统译论以古典文论为根基,翻译活动以古典文论为指导。从道安的'五失本'到严复的'信达雅',乃至当代中国传统译论的百家争鸣,其翻译思想与实践一脉相承。本研究从翻译写作学角度入手,梳理中国传统译论中的'写',同时论述'写'对于译的重要性,指出译者应有译文写作能力,以'写'助译,促成译文的'文'与'质'的结合,以期扩展中国翻译研究的视野。

Classical Chinese translation theories are mainly based on classical Chinese writing theories,which once served partly as theguidance of translating activities.From Dao An’s'Five Losses of Source Texts'to Yan Fu’s'Faithfulness,Expressiveness and Elegance'and then to'the Contention of a Hundred Schools of Thoughts'on Chinese translation theories in the modern times,all of these thoughts and principles for translation have come down in one continuous line.From the perspective of Translational Writing,this paper re-presents'writing'in classical Chinese translation theories and therefore emphasizes the importance of wri-ting in translating.It points out that the translator should have the competence in writing the translation and produce it in accor-dance with both'wen'(graceful translation)and'zhi'(direct translation).The study will hopefully contribute to the researchin this field.
