Zhang Zhesheng's An Illustrative Explanation of the Ancient Dialect Words does a great favor in reading ancient documents. However, there still exists some problems such as the improper entries, the unclearness of the illustration, the uncoordination between the meaning of the words and the instances, the wrongness of the quotation.
