VHDL Intermediate Data Format (VIDF) is demanded by VHDL DesignEnvironment (VDE). It is used as the common data interface in the various tools of the VDE. VIDF can be implemented in different ways according to the demands of its developer. This article introduces a VIDF representation which uses Diana, intermediate language of Ada, which makes the VIDF's representation more formalized. The VHDL Design Library (VDL) is the repository of VIDF. The article also describes a method for the implementation of VDL.
