委婉语不仅指委婉词语,它更是积极运用语言进行表达的一种交际方式。作者主要从语言学的角度,探究英语委婉语的构造手段:语音手段、语用手段、语义手段、语法手段、修辞手段。
Euphemistic expressions include not only the euphemistic words and phrases but also the tactful expressions formed by various means with euphemistic function. The author tries to probe into the means of euphemistic expressions mainly from a linguistic point of view.
