Emphasizing Culture Awareness in English Teaching

语言是文化的载体。对任何一种语言的学习,包含着对这种语言赖以生存的文化背景和社会风俗习惯等方面知识的获取。为此,在英语教学中,教师要多侧面、多层次、多渠道地传授英语的文化知识,培养学生跨文化交际的能力。

Teachers of English should inculde cultrual components in their language teaching curriculum. Both teachers and learners should realize that culture and foreign language learning are closely inter-related. English learners can never be expected to learn the language well without learning and understanding the culture of the people who speak the language.
