Impact of Waste Directly Discharged From Trains on Environment Along the Track

我国铁路每年列车上约有10亿人次的粪便直排铁道线路上,对大气、水源环境和土壤造成污染,孳生蚊蝇,引发多种传染病流行,危害沿线居民的健康,并缩短钢轨等铁道设施的寿命。文章通过对列车直排污物的情况调查、分析和思考,建议有关部门要高度重视列车直排式厕所的环保问题。采取新造客车安装集便器,现有客车改造安装环保马桶,车站设计安装地下粪便接收池等措施,尽快改变多年来列车厕所直排污物影响线路环境的状况。

Each year waste of about 1 billion people/times passenger relieving themselves on trains is directly discharged on tracks,bringing a severe environmental pollution on air, water and earth. Flies and mosquitoes were reproduced, which may causeinfectious diseases and put inhabitants along the track in danger. Service life of some railway facilities such as rails are shortened.The paper suggests related authorities put high attention on the environment problem of this kind of onboard toilets after aninvestigation, analysis and considerations on this issue. The paper also suggests the waste collector be installed on new passengercars, environment friendly toilets be installed on existing cars, and underground waster collector be designed for stations. Impactof waste directly discharged from trains on environment along tracks shall be changed as soon as possible.
