The paper provides and implements a parametri c modeling system for product design. The system is base on product requirement an d supports top-down modeling idea and re-design process. By using product vers ion, the process of the product design can be managed effectively. The assembly based on part database is independent of CAD system, and the result of product d esign can be formed in various CAD system
