After describing the characteristics of East Asian economy and its pattern,the paper demonstrates its obvious and immanent problems.It points out that in an era of accelerating development of economic globalization,East Asian countries should break through the singleheaded model led by Japan alone,and format the doubleheaded model headed by both Japan and China as soon as possible,or the tripleheaded model led by Japan,Korea and China,so as to accelerate the speed of industrial adjustment,realize the upgrading of industries to capitalintensive and technologyintensive ones.We should enhance regional cooperation under peaceful condition.The continual ameliorating of regional cooperation mechanism and organization among 'ASEAN,China,Japan and Korea',and the establishment of Asian Monetary Fund on the basis of equality and reciprocity will provide a good opportunity for effective cooperation of East Asian economics and the economics of the whole Asia.
