论礼俗与汉语词义形成和发展的关系

On the Relationship Between the Formation and Development of Etiquette and Custom and the Meanings of Chinese Words

礼俗在汉语词义发展过程中,或者影响本义的形成,或者在本义与引申义、引申义与引申义之间生成某种联系。而在词义内部相邻的义项之间,潜存着词义发生演变的可能性,礼俗的作用就在于把这种可能性变为词义现实。礼俗与形成词义引申的内因属两个不同层面。

In the formation and development of Chinese words,etiquette and custom has either fused into words themselves and become the total or part of the literal meanings,or generated some connections in the literal-figurative and figurative-figurative relations.Among adjacent semantic items.there is potentiality of such change in word meaning and the function of etiquette and custom is to turn the potentiality into reality.Etiquette and custom and the internal factor of the figurative meaning belong to two different levels.In the specific analysis of word meanings,some hot issues of semantic development and change are involved.
