Dong Qiao and Translation

香港散文名家董桥对翻译有着精妙的论述。其翻译简洁、典雅、忠实 ,颇得钱钟书先生“化”境说之神韵。其对翻译的严谨态度也不啻为今天借鉴与学习的榜样。

Dong Qiao,a well-known essayist in Hong Kong,has made some insightful comments on translation.His translation characterized with economy,elegance and faithfulness is apparently under the influence of the translation concept 'hua' advocated by Qian Zhongshu.It is also pointed out in this paper that Dong's serious attitude towards translation is badly needed now and thus should be highly recommended.
