19世纪末 2 0世纪初 ,一群被称之为“黑幕揭发者”的美国新闻记者和文学家发起一场以揭露时弊为重要内容的黑幕揭发运动。这一运动的兴起与转型时期的美国社会变化及新闻界的革命密切相关 ;对唤醒美国人的社会良知 ,进行社会改革起到重要推动作用。

During the end of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century,a group of American journalists and writers called “muckrakes” launched a muchraking movement aiming at unveiling shady deals.The upsurge of the movement had much to do with changes of American society and revolution in press circles during transforming period.It pushed it forward deeply to arouse Americans' conscience and carry out social reform.
