This paper reported the discovery of the bronzes pit of the Western Zhou at Yangjiacun Village, Meixian County,Shaanxi on 19, Jan, 2003. 27 pieces of bronzes including 12 Ding tripods, 9Li tripods, 2jars, 1Pan, 1Yu (孟), 1 He (盉) and 1Yi (匜) were excavated out from the pit. All bronzes, with inscriptions, especially the Lai Pan ((来辶)盘) and 2 Lai Ding Tripods ((来辶)鼎), with a lot of inscriptions, provided very important data never found before. The inscriptions on Lai Pan recorded the 12 king's titles of the Western Zhou and the history of 8 generations of Shan (单) family, while the Lai Ding Tripod of the 42th Year recorded Lai, the owner of the bronze, awarded king's largess due to his contribution in a war against Xianyun (猃狁), and the Lai Ding Tripod of the 43th Year told the story of Lai got his new official position in king's court. This discovery was very significant to the study of the Western Zhou history, especially for its chronology.
