Past historical studies on the Research Institute of Tsing Hua College [RITHC] (1925-1929) had always focused on the achievements of masters of ancient Chinese studies, including Liang Chichao, Wang Guowei, Chen Yinke and Li Chi, within the four academic years between 1925 - 1929, over 70 graduates were under the supervision of these prominent scholars in RITHC. These graduate students, for example Xu Zhongshu, Wu Jinding and Wei Juxian subsequently made significant contributions to Chinese archaeology. However, researches on these graduates had not been given serious attention. This paper looks at Wu Jinding, who under the supervision and encouragement by Li Chi - lecturer of Anthropology, discovered the Longshan culture, and became a prominent archaeologist in modern China.
