谈谈汉语新词翻译中的两大问题

On the Two Probrems in the Translation of Chinese New Words

随着社会、经济等方面的发展,汉语中的新词也与日俱增。而就这些新词的翻译,现有的汉英词典提供的许多释文还或多或少存在着一些问题。本文着重讨论这些问题,强调词语的等义翻译。

Hundreds or even thousands of new words appear in the Chinese language along with the country's economic and social development. The translation of such words into English leaves much room for improvement, as attested by the translations in several ChineseEnglish dictionaries currently available. This paper addresses the two major problems in such translations. Much focus is placed on equivalent translation.
