On the Reception Psychology of Translations of Net Terms

本文从hacker一词英译汉中的定名入手,分析了受众对于网络语汇译名所表现出来的共性心理,认为网络语汇的翻译不仅要尊信重达,还必须趋简就易和追新求异,才能产生长久的生命力。

Starting with a discussion of the translation of the word 'hacker', this article attempts to analyze the common reception psychology of the public towards the translations of net terms. It is held that, in order to ensure a long life, the translations of net terms should follow three principles:1) faithful and expressive; 2)simple and easy; 3) new and 'foreign'.
